While his mother was hospitalized with severe sepsis, Jason Hauk spent long days at her bedside, witnessing the extraordinary care nurses provide under constant pressure. Amid the complexity of critical care, he noticed the same challenge repeated day after day: multiple IV lines that became tangled, difficult to trace, and time-consuming to manage.
Time after time, nurses paused to untangle tubing, trace medications from pump to patient, and verify the correct connection before continuing care. It wasn't a reflection of their skill or dedication. It was the reality of managing increasingly complex infusion therapy. Those checks are essential parts of care; Jason wanted to make the tubing itself easier to organize.
Unable to find a solution that fit naturally into existing workflows, Jason set out to create one. Working alongside nurses and refining the design through real-world clinical feedback, he developed the LINE-SORT® IV line organizer to bring greater clarity, visibility, and consistency to IV line management, without adding complexity to the bedside.
His goal was to help clinicians spend less time managing tangled tubing and more time focused on caring for patients. Today, the IV line organizer supports IV line organization alongside the tracing, verification, and clinical judgment that patient care requires.
