The rollout

Five steps for rollout

  1. Stock at the point of care

Supply chain adds the product to the item master and sets a stock level for each unit. Choose where staff will access pads at the bedside and in the supply room. Store unopened supplies in a clean, dry place at room temperature, protected from excessive moisture and direct sunlight.

  2. Brief the unit

The unit educator or clinical lead uses the included training guide to brief staff on placement, labeling, and replacement before the first use. Keep a sample available to demonstrate placement to new staff.

  3. Place it with the SORT Protocol

Use a minimum of two LINE-SORT pads per set of IV lines, approximately 12–15 inches apart along the tubing pathway, depending on the clinical setup. Place lines without forcing, kinking, compressing, or tensioning them. Keep tubing, connections, and access points visible and accessible; never use the pad to bear load or secure lines under tension. Label the designated areas, trace and verify per facility policy, and recheck placement after repositioning, transfer, or transport.

    See the full SORT Protocol
  4. Replace between patients

Each pad is single-patient use. Discard it between patients and place a new pad for the next patient. Do not reuse, reprocess, or re-sterilize. Replace a pad sooner if it is soiled or its integrity is compromised, following your facility's policy.

  5. Reorder through your distributor

Supply chain reviews actual consumption to adjust stock levels and reorder LINE-SORT IV Line Organizer Cases (SKU: LS-040-C24). Confirm availability, lead times, and any purchasing requirements with your distributor or the Line-Sort Medical team.
